    Pimp 'Zilla's ride!

    The man needs your help, in his own words;
" I do have a color in mind, prolly go with my gut feeling. As much as I want to, I will resist the urge to have two red bikes.

Sooo, it's gotta be something that'll contrast all the gold trim I'm pulling off my Spot...It's gotta stand out and it can't be black, I work in NYC, we invented black.

Right now my 1st choice is a rich deep very sparkly green... if Olympic has it.(Then all these hawt green bikes started showing up.) I was thinking of something funky like a fade or flames from Spectrum but they're pretty expensive.

Hmmm I can always repaint it next off-season if I just can't live w/o red.

Okay I'm waffling but my gut tells me if not red then green. Your mission should you decide to accecpt, is to convince me otherwise by EOD "

We've got till the end of today to help our friend choose his bling color for his new RFX. All suggestions will be considered, even clown-crap tuesday types. Post your suggestion here.

Green was cool until it became the new black.

Did anyone see the finish on this Id

I have an image in my mind of the person that invented this finish.

I still say a gold dust copper or root beer brown color would be sweet with all the gold accents.

    8004 - 8014- 8028 all look like good candidates

My second suggestion [since you didn't bite on the snakeskin finish] is a two tone fade. Now I know you said no black, but what if it was a fade with gold? The pic below is just a visual aid, imagine your headtube, toptube/seattube junction, and bottom bracket are black, and the top tube, seat tube, and down tube are bling gold?

That way, all your bling components are againt's a black background, where they would look hawt.

Third suggestion would be a slightly lighter shade of green than the current anodized RFX's have, something a little darker than this:

Or a green with a major sparkle finish to it.

    Soulcraft colours rock!

My new Spot will be one of these colours if I can swing it. I'll post a pic if no one guesses which it'll be. I believe Sycip do the paint for Soulcraft.

The Soulcraft Orange looks a lot like SSINGA's

So Rene is instigating again in a positive way. Those cranks are the old Kooka cranks aren't they? I remember jonsing for those in a big way Till I heard they had the strength of peanut brittle. That gold DHR is screaming! I bet it looks awesome in person. Sadly I can't use my gold trim on it...Overgold is the number one killer of pimps worldwide.

The Uzi SL is very close to Tonyaccuso's (sp?) Sasquach Spot. Nice. A little darker might look good with my kit.

I keep thinking that Snakeskin finish has GOT be TE's personal bike.

I might try a cammo look for next year. The reason I've never opted for a bright frame color is that alot of my local trail riding encroaches on private land. I like to be discreet in those situations.

I say combine all your favorite colors intro one flamboyantly spectacular finish. I posted this in the other thread as Rene was posting this one.

Or you can take the poofta to an entirely new level.

It would probably work with the bling too...

Well, mine is off getting sprayed "Solar Gold".

I don't know what solar gold looks like, but I did a search and got 4 pages of pontiac trans-am restoration sites. Good enough!
If I can find a hood chicken decal, I would really be set!

Anyways BZ already has a lot of gold... I agree on the rootbeer brown. my dekerf was "Guiness brown" and it looked very pimp with the gold caps on my Z1 & orange king headset. I woudl maybe go a bit lighter next time. But I'm on to other colors.

    scope the pic from dekerf:
guiness brown is 10th in from the left.
They do EXCELLENT paint work, you won't want PC after having high-end wet paint. I don't.

gotta go with a deep, dark BRG with alot of metalic. bling-rific! green is soooo good with gold. the root beer brown and gold thing is nice but its kinda old school schwinn/bmx-ish if ya ask me and thats been over done so much in the 60's, 70's and 80's that its still considered over done now even though its hasnt been done much in the last 20 years.

Hey! I was going to go with the Turner "custom" Granny Smith Apple green, but I've been thinking more of the BRG. I think the Granny Smith green might be a little too bright. After having a yellow bike, I think I want something a little more low key.

This is a great help fellas tnx. The color charts are great. Skully that Lo-rider green is spectacular. Anyone know who does the paint? That finish, maybe one or two shades lighter would be perfect.

AKC I actually like that tiger stripe dealy but I'm not a good enough rider ... to me that paint says "Go ahead bag on my scoot, youze still off 'da back hoser!"

JC, the only way TE's touching my bike is if he steals it.
Dusty, I think you've found a green that's more poofta than any red I've seen yet.

CC those cars look like they're straight out of Speed Racer. BRG is nice but somehow not blingy enough.
I'll look over th V-cycle site.

Call it the ultimate poseur finish!!! It'll match the killer shock/fork that you'll just stare at and never ride -- until its time to run over a Smurf.

Seriously though -- its tough when you have virtually an infinite number of options. The Spot is all broken down right now -- waiting to get shipped to Olympic. I'm just trying to decide what color to ride for the next few years.

It'll be interesting to see what you wind up with.

That's the color - with big gold, almost bass boat like, metal falkes. One of my good friends as a kid had it on his Schwinn BMX with the yellow Tuff2 mags. Sweet!!

Dirty D, that's not my bike, but it is an anodized finish that was done here; http://www.absolutefinish.com/
It appears that they do a lot of anodizing for paintball guns, and that various schemes of camo are available. Click on the paintball link to see some cool camo.

Sounds like it came directly from Ventana with that finish, so my guess is that Maas did it. Maybe PM ajr to find out for sure.

Renegade thanks for the link. Looks like they do some really nice work and who knows the new fork may find it's way over there in the near future for one of those camo jobs...

I had an Ice Violet trek a long long time ago - it was dark almost black until the sun hit it. I think you should go with someething like that and then you can have either green or gold bits on it...

Closest I could find to the color I was looking for, should be darker with more metal flake though:
