    New year...new Turner

We're adopting a new Turner into the family. A silver '06 5Spot will be joining my Flux next week. I couldn't take the guilt anymore during rides with my g/f as she tried tirelessly and without complaint to keep up with me on my Flux while she rode her old hardtail. I'd clear a fun, techy section only to look back and see her struggling through it or walking around it. I want her to be able to have as much fun as I do each time we go for a ride, so I got her the 5Spot for Christmas.

The guys at Competitive Cyclist hooked me up once again, and it should be here on Wednesday. The build isn't anything special: 32 Float RL (130 mm) in the front and RP23 in the back, X.9, Juicy 7's, Thomson stem and seatpost, and Easton Monkeylite EC-70. But she doesn't need anything fancy at this point. We can bling it out over time as she gets it dialed in.

Hahaha! I suppose you're referring to the 2 month "hiatus." Not sure how much I shared with ya, but things are back on track and smooth sailing so far (where's the crossed-finger smilie when you need one?).

    Well done man

Now if only I could find a girl worthy of my Spot she could ride my mine since its very lonely at the mo while the RFX gets all my attention, I look at her but shes not tempting me as much as the RFX does, the RFX shows way more leg and Im a leg man

That's a solid build! Sure, you could nit pick parts, but you could do a whole lot worse.

Congrats. If your GF smokes you you'll just have to build up a 38lb Six Pack to level the playing field.

It is very cool having someone not only who will ride with me, but who will understand how important riding is to me. She's earned this ride with a year's worth of impressive bruises and scars.

Leg man? Maybe this will help bring ya back to the dark side...

j/k If I had real trails to ride on like you do and a blinged out RFX like yours, I don't think a Spot would get much attention from me either.

Smart man! You understand why I didn't build her up another Flux! Actually, she tried out both a few months ago and preferred the cushier Spot. It gave her more confidence.

I was just trying to "distract" him for a few minutes while I made my getaway. This thread starts off with a sweet "look what I bought my g/f post" and look what it's turned into... bunch of degenerates around here I tell ya.

It's great how anytime guys talk about the opposite sex, we revert to analogies. This is the best one I've heard talkin' with friends about my recent troubles in that department.

I take full blame for posting the picture of the busty mädchen. Obviously, I had nothing but good intentions.

PSI, for you to be my g/f, I'd have to be a switch hitter and you'd have to put out as much as my g/f, neither of which is likely to happen anytime soon. I definitely had to make some sacrifices to get her this bike, but it's money well spent.

No worries, TA, and nothing to apologize for. Thread derails are quite often more entertaining than the original topic. And women keep you sharp and on your toes...or something.

I don't know...I could probably do without the aggravation most of the time, but what's a guy to do? Look at me, I'm barely 28, and the resignation has already set in.
