Need to remember specs for older 5-spot (2004)?

    Hi all,

I have an older 5-spot, maybe 2004 (one of the last years with the Horst link and the Romic coil), I need to replace the bottom bracket, anybody know the specs on that?

    Thanks.

Turner has an archive on the web site, I think it's in the FAQ section.

    That depends on your cranks.

Yup, that occurred to me just as I clicked "Send." I guess I'll have to get my hands dirty and pull that sucker apart, but was hoping to get it ordered today so that I might join a ride on Thursday. I have old-school XT cranks, maybe time to retire them anyway and get something more modern.

Typically you'd run a 73x113mm octalink bb with the I presume octalink XT cranks?

There you go, but, there is no reference to BB (except for height) the most commonly used was a 73-113 with 3 chainrings.

Thanks! Appreciate the help from MTBR'ers. I think I'll go with a new drive train in any case, probably a Hollowtech II like XT FC-M770.... 'bout time I showed my 5-Spot some love.
