    N. GA Turner visit

RedRocker, LoneStar, Dean (sorry don't know his username) & I ventured north of the ATL to Bear Creek. Unfortunately, LoneStar broke his RD at the beginning of the 7 mile climb and was out of action.

I know these pics suck compared to Aquaholic & tscheezy's wide open action shots, but hey we have trees here and I didn't have my crappy digital camera out when RedRocker was laying in the dirt.

Sorry for the static/non-action shots, but they do include Turners.

    Arrival @ Bear Creek

Turners at the mystical Cohutta stones.

    D-Rock & RedRocker

Hopefully RR's pics turned out better,

    D.

Yeah, I'm afraid my action shot of the day is me sitting on my butt trying to get my chain the right length so I could single-speed it back down to the car! I probably shouldn't post any pics of my X-9 RD as I wouldn't want to kill the SRAM buzz. Never seen one destruct like this one did though.

    My input:

This one came out nice! Heck, it even looks like climbed a little bit

Uh, about that lying on the ground thing. The trail back down involves some doubletrack near the top. I washed out going around a tight turn doing something like 15-20 mph. Fortunately I seem to slide well and only sacrped up my arm and knee a little. I dusted off and got back in the saddle! Nice ride today - the weather and the trail were perfect!
    Big hoopy.

Hey, you recovered nicely. I'm just glad I scrubbed off some speed before the blind switchback you laid it down in. A Turner pile-up wouldn't have been pretty.

At least we had a good laugh while you were horizontal!

If only RR had a dime for every time he has heard that line!

That's a locals joke. It seems that there have been many photos taken of bikes lying on those stones who's owners wind up buying Turners.

RR is a perfect example. Here is his NRS on the stones earlier in the year.

Notice LoneStar being smart on the right, guarding the Pantera from the stones.

And D-Rock's Salty is there too (don't let the similar look to his Burner fool ya)

Al's former NRS below. His Burner looks a lot like mine (OK, mine looks like his).

    TRUE!!! The stones do work!

I got a shot of me and my Specialized SJ 120 there back in May. Now I ride a Flux! Weird!
