    My Whistler '08 Recap

4 days riding in Whistler and a day at Mount Seymour on the North Shore =

Nice views on the ride up to Whistler from Vancouver

Looks like a nice place to spend a few days

The locals seem distant at first but soon turn around.

Maybe we'll just get a few warm up runs in first...

Rob preps himself for a ladder section of trail

Colin gets set for a run

Rex however needs to make some adjustments

I prepare to take the local rail trail

    Rob gets Schleyered.

    We're all Dirt Merchants

If I pop the lip I can huck that mountain

Some views are just too good to pass up

Rest stop before we get In Deep

Did he make it on this Joyride?

No, but no long term damage

It was a nice ski condo before 6 bikers descended on it.

Packing up and heading out in the perfect road trip vehicle

Readying to shuttle CBC on the North Shore

Matt wonders if he's nearly there yet.

To summarise, an awesome trip. My photo skills do it no justice at all, I'm hoping the video footage Rob took comes out better on the drops and features we sessioned for the Whistler footage. The riding is so good it's tough to want to stop and take photos. The North Shore ride at CBC (mount Seymour) is a perfect example of this. The downhill run lasted over an hour, but I only took the camera out twice. It's just a constant technical challenge of drops, skinnies and ladders. I'd have loved to shuttle another run but most of us, myself included, were wiped out after just one.

    Nice! more whistler story telling.
I can't believe the horrendous crashes I witnessed that the riders got up and rode on from.

That Joyride crash is nasty to think about, have never even considered doing anything but sending it there, need to find an approach picture to put it in perspective. He covered a lot of distance in that tumble for sure.

It's so much fun riding there you don't want to stop and do photos. I only carried a camera on a couple of the days but still didn't get any real action shots as people are having too much fun to stop and session. Already looking forward to the next time I can make it out there!

Nice! You got more pics than I did from my last trip, camera died first day.

What'd you guys ride below CBC, corkscrew/pangor/empress, Neds, Salvation or?

Joyride, what an awesome trail. The view from the top of that bridge certainly looks steeper than that photo! Props to EB for the heads-up, he warned me to hit it like the schleyer drop. I like the roller coaster at the end too.

    cbc/corkscrew/pangor/empress sounds about right.

Favourite trail feature was the step ups at the end of Original Sin, closely followed by the container step up, the GLC drop, any of the big rollers, the ladder sections, the stream gap, the list goes on

edit: Just for you TA, some white cockpit goodness with the Whistler peak in the background.

Great post 6th, looks like you guys had a awesome trip. While you were doing all the sweet downhill, I made up the difference for you this weekend with 16,700 ft of climbing in two days of riding in N. Ga.

It has far more ability than I do

Both the HL and my 66 (despite it being wounded and bleeding oil from a Diablo crash) saved my ass on numerous occasions when I did silly things in the air and on landing

    nice music!

I love that retro music in the video. Sounds like a heist movie. Cool terrain at whistler. I have to visit there one day if the obama can fix the economy.
    Too wet to ride!

The parking lot where we're all changing was after we'd just ridden CBC at Seymour and were wiped out.
