man down. a distraction if nuthin else

some of ya met a good friend of mine at THC '06. he was with us before the shuttle left for "most of the enchilada" beside the big honkin bus but did not ride due to other obligations. his name is mark and hes also the father of sammy, the young kid who schooled the trail and the vast majority of us homers that weekend.

mark suffered a broken back and some lesser injuries the weekend before last when a tractor he was drivin down a steep hill got away from him and either landed on top of him or rolled him over. we dont know for sure. hes at home and doin super well. his family and friends are stoppin by pretty much around the clock to make sure hes got everything he needs. docs say he can expect 100% recovery but thats down the road. gonna be a long while till he rides again.

maybe we can take a long break from the negitivity that has overshadowed this joint and wish this good man well. who knows, maybe we will find this more satisfyin than the alternitive.

2 pics. one of mark and sam in moab for THC, one of mark on ragbrai '05.

I've got lots of good healing vibes, still. Now it's time I pass them on -

See, it's like I keep telling people: ride bikes, not tractors. Does anyone ever listen? No.

Mark, don't know who you are, but I'll use what I've gleaned of cc's online character as reference and assume that if you're a good friend of his you're probably doing something right...beside my mom, apparently.

    Get well dude.

Best wishes to Mark and his family. Long difficult recovery is a hardship for everyone involved but recovery is it's own reward.

true zilla but if theres one good thing in this its that im hangin out with mark alot more these days. his place isnt far off track on my way home from work so ill pop in, make him lunch, take care of assorted needs and shoot the shyt for a cpl hours. his attitude is awsome and he was strong before this happend so ill guess hell exceed the docs expectations on recovery time.
