    Idea! Interbike floor show erratica

Some random crap from the last two days...

New alu floodgate knob on Pike:

Pike Air U-Turn knob with a cool latch which flips up for twisting, down to be out of the way. Very smooth with strong detents (clicks):

Tread pattern on the new Nokian Gazzaloddi:

I went to a very cool Zoke tech forum this morning where they covered all manner of work on Zokes including overhauling TST carts:

Hope had a cool station where they gave you a chunk of billet aluminum and a dremel and let you design your own hub. I think mine turned out pretty good:

    Hope goes postal:

Here is a picture of Larry's toe. If you look closely you can see a 36 Talas in the foreground:

Upon closer inspection (of the 36) you see it has a 3-position Talas mechanism. Yup, 3 clicks, 20mm adjustment with each click, 120, 140, 160mm. No more endless dial spinning. Nice:

My video techniques can be found in this thread.

    Thanks-

Thanks for posting the pics and insights. That three position setting on the 36 is very cool; I'd like to see that on the traditional Talas RLC as well, i.e., 90-110-130...? I hate the constant clicking, it defeats the purpose of on the fly adjustment-

Maverick shows a height adjust post which is no closer to fitting a Turner frame:

Fox debuts their "atmospheric-equilibration" shock technology with full bleed ports to the outside world:

    A Lenz Laviathan with a Fox 36. A 29er with a 36?

Here is a picture of Bob the Wheelbuilder's toe. If you look closely, in the foreground you can see a wacky hub which allows you to offset the 20mm thru axle down enough to run a 29er wheel on a standard 20mm TA fork.

Bob's toes chillin with Mr. Foes by the Foes 2:1 DH bike. It uses a 2:1 ratio and gets 10" of rear wheel travel via a 10" eye to eye, 5" stroke shock:

So if I put one on my 5-Spot, could I increase the travel??

My video techniques can be found in this thread.

10" of travel on the Foes Mono??

That is some serious airtime. I'm not a DH'er, but always thought that 8" was plenty.

BTW, thanks for the daily insightful posts of the IB bike demos and the host of other gizmos...keeps all of us who aren't there happier in spite of the whole contentious Horst/Faux bar debate.

Is it almost Christmas yet? I've got UGI for that new 36!

    That Foes is hot.

The Hub is funky. I dig the idea. Any chance of it rotating forward or backward jamming your tire into the crown?

And it's about time Hope saw the light and went post mount. Welcome to the 1998.

I can't believe that Fox is switching to air-eq, that sucks! Air is such a poor damping medium. Besides, think about how much dirt is going to get inside!
I stopped driving my bike into my garage - I'm now protected with Roof Rack Ranger app for my iPhone.

Very nice Tscheezy. Good to see the plastic slowly dissappearing off the Pike. So how difficult did the TST service appear to be?

Can someone get Larry some new shoes!!

    Nothing to see here.

Nice pics Cheese. That TALAS mech has just precluded the need for something I've been drafting for the last two weeks (a bar mounted TALAS adjuster for the 36) But yay for that.

It has a brace up to the disc brake mount. Super cool idea and execution. Pics were posted a couple weeks on the 29'er board.
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.

Does the talas 36 have the same a2c as the van now?

And how about the demo bikes, were any of them set up with the new talas 36's?

The new TALAS is going to be faster but I'll miss the ability to fine tune the geo on my bike.

T-man - any sightings/demos of the Rock Shox Revelation? What kind of shoes are those Larry is wearing anyway?

Thanks MK. Do you know if they are planning to make a 27.2 version?

They're not. The internals just won't squeeze into 27.2. Major bummer in my opinion, as there are lots of 27.2 seat tubes out there.
