    Gila monsters and new bikes

D-wang wasted no time trying to break in the new frame and fork. Here are some pics for JOD to help her cope with her rehab.

    1. D-wang hits the cheddar like a BYU coed.
    2. A baby Gila taking a nap. We were collecting rocks to build a new feature this morning, when we came across this critter. We replaced the rock, and let him continue his winter slumber.
    3. The new feature. Carry momentum to get up on top of the rock, and then....
    4. Roll off a one foot drop to the new rock tranny we buit.
    5. A ghey shot of me trying to get the new Sturdy to break loose.

Some more shots of D breaking in the new bike.
    1. Threading the needle
    2. Rollin the Slemboski line
    3. See the cactus just below and to the left of D's tires? That is a barrel cactus.

El C, do baby Gila's have a long tail, and then it morphs with age into the stubby tail that you see on adults?

Not sure about the Gilas. I didn't even know what I was looking at, but D-wang identified it as a Gila.

Nice pics El C! But, go easy on the BYU coeds. Some of us have married one of them (although not one who is fat or eats cheddar). You may find more of an audience discussing the grazing habits of OU or Nebraska coeds.

Both Can'tgetright and I married BYU coeds as well. The good ones are "slim" pickens.

Nice pics as always El C! That last drop/huck looks like a tough one with the slope of the take off.

I used to hit that drop on my VP Free with speed, but the landing is so flat, that it makes the impact pretty harsh. The only real way to hit it with grace, is to roll up slowly, and pedal kick off, or you can roll around it, and roll down the little rocks just to the right there. Or just pedal kick off the lower ledge as seen in the pic below.

    Warning: Santa Cruz content.

Good shots. As long as I'm staring at pics on mtbr, my recovery continues to progress nicely.

Boone, your eyes do not deceive you. For better bike pics see the thread titled "D-wang upgrades". Some of my riding buddies are resistant to the bash ring, but in this case, he will be getting one soon.

Thanks for the clarification on the reptile Lycra. Either way, he's probably good eating if cooked properly.

If you want to see how scary BYU coeds turn out, look no further than TE.

Really like the 'small' rock climb and roll pic - probably more tricky than it looks.

That's a different kind of scary. I don't think he is the "cheddar and fattie" type.
