    Double Trouble

    Ok, so I'm a serious Homer because in my search to find a second bike to compliment my DW Spot I wound up with a second Spot I found myself wanting a light bike and a heavier bike so I got an Mojo SL and hated it. I did try out some Pivot stuff, DW Flux and recently owned a 575, Reign 0, yada yada. Anyway, I decide just to add another Spot. My original Spot is built up AM the new one XC, they're 32lbs and 26lbs respectively. Here's a couple pics. Flame me if you will but after explaining my plight to my wife she thought it made sense so I imagine some of you will too. It's the perfect bike, for me , not too much and not too little so one heavy and one light made sense, particularly becase I had all the parts and was swapping builds back an forth. The light one will get a blue seatpost clamp and grip clamps for a little extra bling but is basically done. Here they are;

    Sorry for the crappy pics but my time was limited to sat the least.

    Did you find that red couch on consignment on your way back to the shop? You must have looked funny as hell with Two DeeDubs and a red couch in tow.

    Makes sense to me.

    I had two TNT Sultans for awhile with a similar disparity between builds. This highlighted the abilities of the frame at either end of what is was capable of, while still allowing a degree of familiarity when switching between the two. At the time, there were very limited options for what I was looking for (longer travel 29"er), and for me none of them made as much sense as a second Turner, even of the same model.

    The DW Spot is an equally versatile frame, and if I didn't already have an '08 RFX I could easily envision having a burly Spot to complement my light one (also around 26 lbs.).

    Negative, not much time on the bike this week. I've been doing way to much "house cleaning" I feel like having a little more bike today. Plus, I'd like to break in the Totem a bit.

    No I hear you its a sweet ass rig and everyone loves a new bike. You know when I got my Jedi I was MIA from XC/AM all season doing DH so I know the feeling. The HL seems like over kill for an XC trail was all I was saying, well unless you got some big drop hidden

    It's the 2010 2-step, really a nice fork no complaints, works perfectly and has a simple feel that just works.

    Yes, it's the iron glimmer from FT. I felt it my moral obligation as a Homer to liberate it from collecting dust at FT. I'm having shirts made that say "Free the DT, D Dubs", don't let perfectly good frames go to waste hanging in LBS's while people are out riding inferior shyte.

    Now I feel a little better about my dual DW's. Nice rigs, dude. I have to get a pic of both of mine on the bed complete. The Spot is a little too dirty to bring in the house.

    I am sitting in the Amsterdam airport with two brand new Turner builds in the garage. Everyone get in a ride for me. I will be riding the exercise bike at the hotel....

    Here's some better pics and I finally got around to putting the new decals on my orange spot. JNC did these up, I wanted to use the Orange Crush font and colors. I think they look great. Thanks JNC.
