Clash of the Titans: Guerrillas in our Midst

You've probably already seen some of the ride shots in Whafe's thread, so I'm going to do a sorta ride, recap.

Let’s Begin with the end… It was a Helluva fun day!

    Okay here’s how it went:
It was a dark and stormy night... Ooops, wrong intro...

My truck was loaded and my GPS was ready and I hit the road BRIGHT and early:

Note: I'm more likely to be going to bed at 4:30am than getting up.

After about 2hrs, I arrive at the midpoint: Manchester Ct. A few mins later Miles rolls the USS JFK into the parking lot. As he drops the tailgate of his F350 I'm wondering if he'll rack his bike on my dinghy or am I just supposed to drive my "truck" up onto his.
We quickly load up his gear in my dinghy and continue on to Lynn.

This is the second road trip I’ve done with Miles. We drove from Charlotte to Pizgah for HIP. Good traveling partner for sure.

Another 2.5hrs later we arrive in Lynn we pull into a Dunkin Doughnuts which is more like a Doublewide photomat kiosk. There's a nice gentleman standing next to the drive through who looks at my NY plates and bravely says "Go Yankees!" I thank him for what could be a felony so close to Boston.

CF comes over to the main lot to escort us back to his private lot. Driving behind him I start to think maybe this is how he got is name as we follw him passing old ladies left of the double yellow. Then I remember somebody having told me, half the ppl in Boston drive like this.
    Nice bumper sticker eh?

We get to the Main lot and have a mini Interbike session... lots of swanky scooters everywhere.
    Swede's Alutech catches my eye.

    Adjustable Chainstay position!

    Knice Knolly

One of Several RFXs Whafe rode this one today as his Nic popped a “whire”.

    Fred’s Nicolai

    Fred’s previous Nicolai:

There was of course, Miles Sultan and My RFX as well a few other bikes.

The ride up into LW was a lot of steep climbing, and I'm clearly in my post season condition (fat slow stupid) but was a social ride and we had a blast riding the rocks. This place is hella rocky.
Wilks called it: Itís like Skyline driveís Cannonball near Ringwood but with the sheer hostility of Carmelís Ninham. Sweet!

Lots of riders and lots of fun. Since I'm crap with names I'll leave it to sombody else to ID the crew:

CF brings his trademark chrome dome:

What’s really crazy is you have to bridge two gaps and finish with a big drop to flat btwn some rocks and trees with no runout. Only Fred and one of his crew did this.
Gotta clear two of these first to do the drop:

    Crazy Graphitti:

CF showed me the psycho stuff that earned his name in days gone-by. Everything is to flat, with nearly no runout. He says he's done with this kind of insanity. He may be crazy but he's not stupid. For the record, he brought his photo album with 35mm prints of him actually hitting this stuff. Nutz!

Whafe, CF and crew were a blast to ride with. CF's got a big heart and let one of his buds ride his bike out after he triple flatted. They're all great people to ride with. And as always itís good to hook up with Miles. Thanks fellas!

Good stuff. It's always nice to meet new friends who mainly care about riding and sharing some good times.

Zilla is the first Turner Peace Ambassador. This is an annual position.

Yeah, there seems to be an extra guy wearing work clothes. What the heck is going on with all those masks? If I had to guess, I'd say they were Zilla's gifts to the band of merry men.

Nice to see another side of CF! Looks like great riding, thanks for the writeup BZ!

CF should market a line of lids w/ sticker and all! They'd be a hit

I like Fred's bumper [tailgate] sticker. It's east coast.
Did you guys know that I'm originally from the east coast? Can you tell?

Random guy we got to join us for the picture by giving him a Bud, but he's still not too thrilled about the whole thing as you can see.

j/k! That's actually Swede, the guy monkeying around on the RFX in all the pic's. Both guys sharing the Knolly (btw, I didn't realize that name is a homonym for "gnarly" until this weekend) rode, but one must have already put his bike up before 'Zilla broke out the masks. I couldn't believe how game these guys were for the gig when they probably knew/cared little as to why we would all don Mardi Gras masks after the ride. Definitely a fun group to ride with.

Edit: I think that's Whafe on the left of the Knolly. Shawn must have already taken off with the loner 5 Pack, or else they just didn't want the picture to be overrun with Turners.

Great bunch of guys on that LW ride Sunday mornings. I couldn't keep up 2 years ago - I can only imagine what they are doing these days! If you are really nice to them they might take you to B&Ts someday. It's worth it just to follow the Swedes and see raw talent.

Great write up BZ, arrived back into Barcelona today, bike arrived with me, so was stoked....

    Some great photos all round.

Have found a couple more, one amusing one of BZ, it is classic, I suffer this so I am told when I am writing...Concentration does odd things to my brain...

The other one is ncig on the Knolly, sweet looking bike....... Was hoping to ride a large Knolly, but it didnt arrive as intended....

Once again BZ, CF and MilesE, great to hook up and ride with you, also to CF's riding crew..... Had a great few days up in the area.....

Cool - if you scroll through the 300 photographs really quickly it sort of looks like a .gif file. BZ - one tip for ya - more Armor All on the Infinity's wheels dude.
