Just went through this...if you have Race Face cranks: good freakin' luck with it being easy. BlackSpire Stinger can happen. With RaceFace cranks you'll have to grind down your chainring bolts or spring for low-profile and then maybe still have to grind them down as well.

Short answer: the Stinger works really well so far for me (and it's cheap).

You will be groovy with the bottom bracket mounted chainguides then with XT's. The Stinger will set-up easy for you.

    erguy,
If you want somthing cheap that will still give you top performance, then the DS is what you want. Airwreck posted the picture above of the BB mount version that you would need. It should be available right now from your LBS (or any bike shop that can order from BTI...they've currently got 12 in stock without bashguard).

Everything should work out, and there is 1mm of adjustment in the BB mount setup as well.

    Cheers,

yeah we do. i just prefer the simplistic beauty and absolutely perfect performance of the heim/lrp. then again, i havent used a drs so who knows. tons cheaper, thats for sure. if it works anything like as well as the srs, id be game. now theres a fine part. whats cool is in another thread, philip posted you can swap guide parts for the newer lg-1 as it shares the same plate. very cool news.

hey philip: whats the word on the new heim? got some design details and a release date yet? just curious. thanx man.
