CC DB inline for 5 spot?

    Hey,
I ride a 2010 5 spot, wanting to upgrade the shock and fork. Was thinking of the new cane creek Db inline shock and wanted a Pike fork, but the frame will not take a tapered steerer. Currently have a fox rp23 and a RS lyrik u turn fork. What do you think?

I have been happy with my DB Inline on my 5 Spot. Is a very nice upgrade. The only comment I can make about the fork is that the 2015 Fox 36 fork can be obtained with a straight steer tube. That would be a nice fork IMHO.

Did you purchase your shock from CC or from Turner. I'm wondering if the ones from Turner are valved for their bikes.

I thought only the 2012-2013 Spots could take a DB shock, no?

Your RP23 could be sent to Avalanche also, a much cheaper option. Works Components offers a 1 degree headset for 1 1/8 inch headtube. An Avalanche cartridge in the fork would really make it a nice package if he has one to fit.

My understanding is that the DB inline will work with the 2010 and the new frames have a bent down tube that will accept the piggy back shock.

I'll check out Avalanche for options, as well as Push.

It's always fun to get some new parts/ technology for the ride

I've also been thinking of upgrading to a db-inline. I have a 2011 5-spot small frame. According to cane creeks website the db-inline won't fit. Poloarflux, what year is your frame, did you have any problems getting the shock to fit? What do you like about the shock?

Interesting... When I checked the CC site, the Inline only worked for 2012-2013.
I wonder if this means you mount the Inline shock in reverse...?

28lbs for a coil Spot! Nice weight. Would you know if a CCDBA will fit a med 2010?

Also on a '10Spot w/Lyrik coil u-turn and upgraded from the fox to the Monarch RT3 earlier this year. Huge improvement - all the wallowing is gone. New uppers and lowers on the Lyrik a couple of weeks ago - still love that fork.

i think the dba is way too big to fit...also, that was with my heavy tires and tubes and different pedals. should be considerably lighter now. had it down to 27 with air shock

That is strange. With the fit finder on there site, they tell that there is no fit. I own a small 2011 5.Spot.

I asked TFTuned by email, but they only refer to the fit-finder on their site.

This is what you need http://www.turnerbikes.com/turner-faqs/fivespot-faqs
    A: The dw-link 5.Spot comes with a 7.5in X 2in air shock. Its shock uses the 21.8mm wide reducers with 6mm x 40mm hardware.

Offset bushings can be bought from Burgtec (UK) which will be cheaper that getting them from Turner due to their delivery costs. http://www.burgtec.co.uk/products/of...hock-hardware/

    Hello!

I run Offsetbushings.com - where you can get either offset or standard hardware for just $15 USD each. With low cost world wide shipping which takes under a week.

We've sold loads for these Turner frames without any issues. You can adjust the geometry quite a lot actually if desired!

If we can help at all, please drop us an email!

    Cheers,

    Jeron
