The dw-link RFX v4.0 comes with a 7.78in X 2.25in air shock. Its shock uses 22.2mm wide reducers with 8mm x 45mm T40 hardware at the rocker and 29.1mm wide reducers with 8mm x 45mm T40 hardware at the base.
Chainstay length is longer than I'd like. The Ibis Mojo HD3 16.9" and so is the Specialized Enduro 29r (!!!) so 17.2 seems a bit long.
Rear Cable Routing seems a bit Janky
Downtube guard seems like its riveted on? I hope its easily replaceable!
Not sure if I'm happy about the lack of Boost hub spacing..? Part of me is glad to be able to reuse my Hadley hubs, part of me wishes they had gone down the Boost route to shorten up the rear end a bit more...
66 degree head angle? Hmmm. I'll have to test ride something with a HTA similar to that to see if its too slack... might be even too slack at 67.5. But maybe not.
Overall though, hats off to the boys at Turner. This is one hell of a nice looking bike and I bet the waiting list is going to be quite long!!!
chainstay length is .15" or 3.8mil longer than a nomad. and who knows how accurate santacruz is
rear cable routing is cleaner than the nomad - and will help protect the chainstay. and if you dont like seeing it: wrap it.
66 degree head angle - with angleset option - making 64.5 degree doable. The HD3 has a 66.6. I'll be on the look out for your "observations" on that bike.
Very nice. Thanks for posting an image of the specs. Looks like you all crashed the Turner site and I couldn't get on.
Everything about the specs are near perfect for me. I'd like just a tad longer reach and shorter CS but numbers don't tell the whole story. The proof's in how it rides. Can't wait to try one.
Please tell me you'll have a large waiting for me at Interbike, Dave.
Come on Krob!!! I think the numbers look perfect! I am excited about these numbers. I am not in the overly long bikes or overly slack bikes. This is right in the middle. It falls between the HD3 and the Nomad, which has been grossly classified as too trail-oriented or too much bike. Chain stays plus or minus 17 inches seem to work fine.
OMG, this is awesome!!! Just finished building a czar a month ago and it is amazing. Now I can start working on the next project, the RFX!! Finally something that can replace the hole left in my stable when I moved all the parts from the 2001 RFX to the 2011 5-spot. I love the 2011 spot and it's been a really solid all-around bike but I have been waiting for an RFX of this level pretty much since about 2008. Yes!!
WHoooooo hooo. So excited! Thank you Turner!
and congrats on us crashing the site!! I can't get in either!
Yes, large demo in Vegas somehow... Turner Bikes is not 'there', but there will be Turner Bikes there, somewhere, in the desert.
Uhh riveted on down tube protector? No. 66 too slack? No. But you can turn the angled cups around and make it up to 1.5* steeper. Really, just turn the cup around and Voila! Nuevo retro sled on crack.
The headset is same as Burner spec. We have 1* slackeners in stock and 1.5s on order. Didn't think .5 would be worth the trouble, unless one is steepening HA... Not even an old dog like me would think of that.

I think chain stay is acceptable,
Reach could be a bit longer would be better but those are just the numbers,
I wonder when this thing will available???
No the Evil Following and RFX are not made in same factory. Both are large, first class operations, not even in same city.
If one has ever built a bike with internal cable routing knows its a pain in the ass. I don't intend to force RFX buyers to drag their unfinished build to a dealer for pro fishing help. And lets face it, most mtb's 'internal' routing is a f'ing joke. barely skipping under the bottle cage area, followed by big loops hanging out? random cables but not hoses? marketing bs.
I do a lot of bike work and barely loosening a clamp and dragging housing out, cutting new to match and threading it back is easy and fast.
Longer would be nice if everyone rode straight rock lines and IMBA / ride centre flow trails. But most riders do not, and with angles slacker than ever keeping in touch with that front wheel is going to be a challenge for most, so I did what I did.

This bike looks gorgeous. I do join in with a few others and wish it was slightly longer reach and shorter chainstay. I'm glad the cable routing is NOT internal. Everything else looks perfect, imo. Well done, Dave!
So happy that it's not Boost 148 and has external cable routing. Another reminder of why Turner is Turner.
And someone already asked this, but, bushings or bearings? It would be weird to suddenly have the two top of the line bikes running on bearings after Turner's long held stance on the superiority of bushings, but I also understand that bearings might just be the way to go when manufacturing tolerances are what they are.
Looked at bikerumor and it is indeed running on Enduro bearings. Mixed feelings about this; smoother initiation of travel and avoiding the bushing tolerance that many of us have experienced are positive, but the increased maintenance and weight are a negative. Plus, DT has been preaching the superiority of bushings for years.
After the complaints about silver links I'm surprised by the lack of moaning over a press-fit bottom bracket.
