    BB spacer question

SLX cranks on a 5 Spot, 73mm BB.

I noticed that with ZERO BB spacers, the cranks have only a tiny bit of play, so I added a shim (~.5mm) from my RF cranks on the SLX spindle and it took up all the play.

Anything wrong here for the cranks? We've always been told 'One 2.5mm spacer for 73mm shells', but if they snug up fine what could be the problem?

A wider stance is nice, but I'm a twig's width to begin with. Figure I may give it a try if I'm not missing something.

Double check your chainline, your shifting it 2.5 mm in board, you may run into trouble dropping into your small chain ring or getting hung up on the lower link.

Other wise as long as you can get the play out of the crank it self I don't think you should have any other issues.

    Happy trails...

    Get out and ride!
