Ben, if you don't buy this avy, none of us are going to ever talk to you again.
Buy it, and as soon as the roco comes back, sell it.

The peer pressure is on you Ben. Maybe you could sell a few speedo pics for the extra cash?

If he just signs a speedo instead, one sale should cover it.

Good deal for sure, but I'd hold out for a Chubbie if I had an XL frame.

Why? The HL begs for a Woodie or DHS. Chubies are for Spots and RFXs

Not from what I understood from Craig. He mentioned the Chubbie actually worked better with the HL's leverage curve at bottom out. (maybe not to some great degree)

Works better how? Is it more linear, or does it ramp up more?

Craig explained that since the leverage curve is what DT describes as barely rising rate, the Chubbie is more optimised under those conditions. I can't remember why, but it had something to do with bottom out management for that leverage. I did not get the impression it was anywhere near a critical thing, and that a Woodie or DHS would also work quite well...but not necessarily better.

It does. It fits normally on a large or XL. We have done a preliminary fit on a medium (upside down and backwards) and it should fit as well. If anyone wants a definitive answer on that, they can let me know.

tiSS, Tnx for the info. Curious, did you check the fit at full compression (flattened bumper)?

Still I'm not sure though because looking at the pictures of this thread here, I think Craig is being a little conservative, it sure looks like there would be enough space on the at least the large. I have no idea if that is the case though. I guess the Woodie fits differently.

As for the best performance of Chubbie vs DHS/Woodie ... best bet is to ask Craig.

Does anybody know if the Chubbie will fit an 06 large HL? The newer frames seem a lot more compact then the older ones.

I've got a Woodie on my '07 Large HL with plenty of room to spare, and if a Woodie will fit, a Chubbie will have no problem. And as tiSS'er said, I don't see any reason either couldn't fit upside-down and reversed on a medium HL.

Well, I spoke too soon. A Woodie will not fit on a Medium HL, and I doubt a Chubie will either.

First a couple of shots to show how a Woodie fits on my large HL with plenty of room to spare. One at top out and one at full compression.

Next, to see if it would fit on a Medium HL, I tried the Woodie upside-down and reversed on my large. By eyeball, I thought it was going to fit, but the resevoir hits the downtube before full compression. We mounted it to tiSS'ers medium and if hit with even less compression, enough so that I doubt that a Chubie will fit on a medium as well.

Correct...not a chance of a Woodie or a Chubie fitting on a medium. I thought for sure iot would fit upside down and backwards. Oh well, not like the DHS sucks or anything.

    Wtf!

I told this guy I wanted his shock and was waiting for his email after we exchanged pm's a few times. Finally after a day of wondering what happened, the next day he came through with his email info. Unfortunatly it came thru when I was gone. ASAP I sent the money(yesterday)..and today I found out just now it was refunded.

Turns out he didnt take my word. This was after I told him twice I would take it. Is there any etiqette to the first who claims or not?

Pretty bummed how this one turned out. actually pissed. fox dhx's suck!
