    Long Live 26"

I thought about getting a Burner or Flux but when a bike rides as good as this one why waste the money.

XL. I also have the seat pretty high for the pedally bits... And the fork is shimmed down to 140mm of travel which makes the frame look bigger IMHO. She's built for abuse so she weighs about 33lbs? I'm 6'3" and 220 so it fits pretty well, though I wish the TT was a bit longer...

There are a couple of wishes I have for my XL and longer TT would be one of them as well.

Those are some of the best pics I've seen in this forum. That blue "pops" and the back drops are fantastic!!
About to put the X01 on my spot. How do you like the 1x11 on your?

    Happy holidays.

    Cheers,
Thanks, the fall light/colors are nice.

Really like the 1x11, gear range is perfect and its really nice to not have a front derailler.
Been starting to drop chains after 7 months, which is really starting to annoy me.
I think the clutch has been loosing tension or something, i have lubed the internals of the clutch and it has helped some.

I had the same issue with a x-9 type 2. My LBS spoke to SRAM and they sent me a new one under warranty. Might be an option if you have a trusted LBS.

Recently plugged in a new RS Pike RCT3 150, and a RS Monarch RC3+

    Lovely.

Trying to not convince myself I need a Burner or a Sultan - I bought my missus a 2011 Sultan, and its pretty awesome. Just not as 'fun' as the Spot.

not quite sure what it's called... first time to do the Loop wasn't really organized with the Bataan riders, we just ended up bumping into them at Total and they just invited as to join. We were prepared to go at it based on previous guys' rides.

John, maybe after a few more rides you could lob out your view of Push Monarch+ vs. SE Monarch+ vs. CCDBA...you know, bump compliance, mid-stroke support and big hit control. Sickening upgrades though...

    Sure,

But you'll have to wait, mother nature is dumping a season killer amount of snow right now. I've only had the SE Monarch for three rides and I've been very impressed. If you are not a tuner geek, concerned about weight, and like the plug-in-play aspect, I would recommend as the logical step to replace the OE shock. Its a completely different shock than the Push version; construction, rapid recovery, oil volume, etc.

I'm getting my CCDBA re-built. Had it for almost 18 months and I've noticed a lack of performance (blowing through travel..etc).

Once I get the CCDBA back and the weather cooperates I'll post my comments.

    Cheers,
"I Like the Cut of His Jib"

Winter ride stoke! The conditions seemed to go dry, hero dirt, mud, snow, ice....repeat until done. Good times! Those Maxxis DHR2's work really well in this type of mud/winter riding out here, as well as in the dry. I dig 'em.

A shot halfway through the Palm Canyon Epic -- great ride! Plus we met maybe -- what -- 5 other Turner riders on the lower slopes? More Turners than Treks. And 1 GT -- Hans Rey.

    Cheers !

Hadnt thought about the St Patrick's day link to be honest.

I had it re coated by a company in the uk who have done an excellent job !!

Im thinking about changing the shock if i keep it and notice you had a monarch on yours? Is it any good compared to a rp23?

Yup I have a 2014 Monarch Plus with Low compression and Medium rebound. Some like a L/L tune. It blows the stock RP23 out of the water! The rapid recovery on the shock pairs very nicely with the Pike...especially if you have fast trails with quick succession of med drops that are strewn with roots.

I also have a CCDB which is great too. If you want to keep the weight down and want an install and forget it shock, then get the RS Monarch Plus. If you like to tinker and weight and cash are not a concern go for CCDB. You'll be much happy with both over the RP23.

    Cheers,

Just installed the Wolf Tooth Giant Cog and 30t Drop Stop chainring. It was about a 2 beer job.

New cassette, new chain, new shifter cables. I bought a new der hanger just in case, but did not use it. It shifts pretty darn perfect as it is. We'll see if that changes.

No additional noticeable bob due to small chain ring and its affects on the Dee Dub suspension. But I'll have to test it out on a real climb to see for sure. Probably could easily compensate w/ a couple more clicks of LSC. The bike just pedals awesome anyways. Not really concerned about bob, but thought I should let folks know.

I am planning on getting a light chain guide. Probably the MRP 1x. Word on the street is that those narrow/wide chainring teeth eventually wears down and chains start flying. And maybe a taco bash guard. That chain ring was expensive.

I would give the shifting an A- (I very rarely give an A or A+)
The shift from 15 to 19 could be a bit smoother but that's probably on me and simply needing to "dial in" the derailleur
