My friend bought a brand new 5-spot w/ CK wheels, Fox Vanilla Hope Mono mini brakes etc etc for 2800, so 2500 doesn't seem like too great a deal.

Yeah, I looked at the parts list and it doesn't look that great. Mech disk brakes and stuff. That's why it's so cheap. You get a good frame but crappy parts.

Rims are literally the bottom of the line Mavic rims, CRAP hub, crap ISIS bottom bracket (all ISIS is crap), lame tires for a 5 Spot, moderately crap fork, basically generic stem post

but decent front and rear derailleur, great shock on frame, and good brakes (who care if they are mech, they are still great).

worth $2500? that is too subjective to answer. i personally dont think so. could get a much better bike for $2500....may not be a Spot frame but bike will be WAY better.

    Titus Motolite with better specs

My shop is selling a complete 2006 Titus Motolite with adjustable 4" or 5" rear travel, Fox RP3, Manitou Minute 1, Avid mechanicals, RaceFace X-type crankset, SRAM X7 shifters and X9 rear derailleur, XT front derailleur, Titus bars and seatpost, Ritchey stem, WTB saddle, and Sun Rhyno Lite Deore disc wheelset for $2222. Seems like a better build for less than the 5-spot. The discussions about which bike is better are endless. Both are great frames.
