2011 5 spot works components angleset Q?
I want to order an angleset for my 2011 5 spot and I have a tapered fork.
Works components won't answer the email I sent them, don't know what the problem is.
Could you please help me out here?
It seems like the EC44-ZS44 is meant for the spot, but it says it will only suit 1 1/8 fork.
Full Headsets - Most Common Sizes.
Which one is the one for a 2011 spot w/ tapered fork?
You cannot do ZS bottom cup and tapered steer tube with a 44mm head tube. You need 1 1/8th for both the headsets they offer in 44mm. The original one had an external bottom cup, the 'NEW' one they have advertised is ZS. I am assuming you aren't running a ZS bottom cup right now with your tapered fork? This is no different, it is a no go.
Thanks for the answer.
I don't have any headset as of now. I had a 1 1/8 fork and changed it for a tapered.
So I guess my only option now is to buy a standard headset and forgetting the idea of an angleset?
Unless you still have your 1 1/8th fork around you are out of luck for using an angleset on your Spot. What fork are you running? I have a ZS Chris King for my 2012 Spot (still waiting to be built), but that is mainly because I will be running a 160mm fork and wanted to keep the front lower to offset the taller fork.
I sold my 2011 fox float 36 rlc.
And bought a 2012 talas 36 RLC.
I have a cane creek headset in it right now for my old 1 1/8 fork.
I have to forget the angleset for now, (damn it).
I will just change the bottom cup.
Thanks a lot for all the help Buzz, and I hope you will love your new bike!
