Looks like an '06 to me. The '07s are supposed to be a lot stiffer than '06. I recall reading in Mountain Bike that the 07 EX design is "one of the most impressive year-to-year updates [they've] ever come across" (June 2007, pg88) while reading the review on the 07 EX9.5 (it's nominated for Best of MB).

So, although I have no personal experience with last year's EX design, I am the proud owner of a 2007 EX bike and it's amazing. Unless you're getting a good deal, I'd try to get a hold of a new model. But, I'm sure someone more informed will come along.

I think last year the EX line had 4" of travel.

The entire rear triangle on '07 EX7 and up is no maintenance cartridge bearing pivot instead of bushing like it was on the '06's. Also, they added a pivot near the rear right by the elbow at the bottom of the triangle, which is again only on EX7 and up.
