What kind of bike is the HiFi plus?

I just bought a HiFi plus and was wondering what type of bike it was. AM? XC?

    Thanks,

    Gene

Folding travelbike. Wacka wacka... Couldn't resist.

It seems to be a longer travel XC/trailbike.

    Lets see...

    manually propelled
    2 wheels
    Fat tires

    ...Must be a mountain bike!

It is closer to XC than all mountain. My brain calls it a trailbike, which I for some reason consider to be less than AM, whether it is or not.

Ha! Seriously though. Make sure to read the threads about HiFi frame failure before purchasing this bike. What you don't know could kill you.

Check out the latest issue of Mountain Bike Action. The HiFi was one of their feature articles. They gave it a good review but hey, Read the post on this forum in regard to rear suspension failure.

I wonder what they would have wrote if their test bike folded

I can only imagine how gpad is feeling right now. You know that feeling you get in your throat when you find that spending $$$ on item 'x' wasn't a good idea. A feeling of despondent sadness? Or am I just retarded?

I really want a HiFi too. G2 sounds sweet, since genesis geo. has worked well for me on past Fisher bikes. If I had one I'm sure I'd ride it even knowing about the problems. It's just that now I won't go out and purchase one until I hear more about the frame issue. Oh well.

I would not count the hi fi out just yet, I am anxiously awaiting a response from GF'er on my bike, the one that folded. I was so impressed with the bike when it was working. I am hoping that they figure out what happened and correct it so I can get back on one ASAP. As far as I know the problem has been limited to XL frames only.

Same as the Cake it replaced....a long travel XC / Trail bike. Though in the HiFi's case, it also has more potential for use as an XC race bike due to its light weight.
