Trek Y Frame and Rear Disc brakes???

Is it possible to convert the rear UTD of a Trek Y frame so that it will accept disc brakes?

Does anyone have any good advice or aftermarket kits I can look at that for sure work with the rear, or has anyone used welding to get disc tabs on there Y Frame's rear triangle?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Brake Therapy has a conversion kit that attaches to the brake boss of a linear-pull system.

Thanks, I have heard about issues with brake alignment with these though? What about the A2Z adapter tabs?

Trek Y Frame Rear Disc Mod

Recently updated my Trek Y frame to have rear disc brakes. Simple enough to do if you can tig weld or know of a tig welder. I just got a disc brake adaptor the 160 to 210 step up adaptor, cut it to suit and welded it to the rear triangle. I used a rear wheel with an old disc and caliper to set it up. Realy easy. What a difference it has made, not only does it look cool, but it has increased the stopping power too. See photo.
