    TREK SESSION 9.9 REAR HUB 157mm ?

The Trek website lists a 157mm x 12 rear hub. Is this correct? I have never heard of this size. If so - why would they put a non-standard size on this bike. any experience out there with this wheel?

Yes, it is correct. Don't know why, but my guess is to create more products that people will think they need. They have 150 drop outs that you can order to use standard hubs from your other wheels.

It's the same idea as the 142mm hubs they use on their other bikes -- ease of wheel installation. 3.5mm on each side of the hub goes into a nifty little channel so your wheel is centered before you throw in the axle. Nifty? Yes. Needed? Not really.

The frame should come with adapters to use regular hubs, although a lot of hub companies are making compatible hubs or their own adapters this year.
