    Trek Mt Track 220

I found one locally at reduced price and may get it for my kid. The 220 has good reviews here, but I'd like to hear more opinions.

The following questions are floating in my mind:
Is it heavier than other 24" wheeled kids bikes? How much does it weigh?

What upgades are advisable after purchase?
The description on Trek's site is here.

I'm minorly concerned about the gearing.
    The 220 has:
    Crank: Dialed 42/34/24, adjustable length
    Cassette: Shimano 14-28, 7 speed
The 240, next model up, has:
    Crank: Bontrager Sport 42/33/22
    Cassette: SRAM PG830 11-32, 8 speed
So, in granny gear the 220 has 24 teeth front and 28 rear, the 240 is 22 front and 32 rear; 24 wheels make a difference though. Is this a concern for climging?

It's a kids bike. Buy it, ride it, and your kid will grow out of it before you know it.

Be sure to check out the Fisher Galaxy, as well.
