    Depending on the cost of the repairs, it could be good, 6 series frames of that time were the top of the line so it is a great bike. Also if a 17.5 29er is too small I am not sure that a 56cm road bike would be big enough.

    I would look into getting a quote for the repair before doing anything. If the guy selling it is the original owner then he can get a warranty replacement for the frame, if not you could contact http://calfeedesign.com/repair/ from what I have heard they do great work.
