    Trek Mamba Fork Upgrade?

Hey everyone. Perspective Mamba buyer here.

as a bigger guy i'm having concerns that the spring suspension might not be ideal for me. I was wondering if the mamba is easily upgradeable to something using air suspension. I read some concerns that the Mamba wasn't able to accept different forks for some reason. Is this true?

    Thanks everyone!

Yes the Mamba is easy to upgrade.

I just upgraded to a Tower Pro 100mm, I am 221 down from 238 the tower is night day difference.

You can also run a taper steer tube but you would need to change your headset.

The Mamba has G2 geometry so technically if you alter to a non G2 fork you will alter the bike's geometry. I have had a hard time finding G2 forks my self. At least forks under 800 bucks.

The G2 offset is 51mm and I believe the standard offset is 46. Everything I've read is that by going to a 46 you will lose some of the agility in handling. If i'm not mistaken the tower has a 48mm offset so that will effect the bike's handling less then a regular 46.

Did you notice any difference Jim?

Jim - I'm also curious about this - how are liking the Manitou - that fork seems to come up quite a bit when upgrading the G2 frame forks....any big differences. Thanks!
