Hello everyone, I am looking for some advice on a possible purchase. The ad is below. I am in my 40s and do some light trail riding as well as occasionally on pavement. I have a 1980s Ross that I've Frankensteined over the years (rims and frame are the only original parts). It's fun and sentimental, but very rough on trails, of course. I would like to bike more since running is taking its toll, and want something better than a big box store bike, but I have no need for something that costs 2000 either.
The one listed below sounds nice. I will be seeing it soon. In the meantime, what are some thoughts on the price? Is it too much? I like that it has some extras, esp. the 2-bike car rack.
"LIKE NEW 19.5" Trek 4300 with Shimano Alivio Components, Hornet Hydraulic Disc Brakes and lockout front fork. Hardly ridden and garage kept. Everything was bought new in 2011 for close to $1,000. It comes with front and back lights, Schwinn computer, Hollywood bike rack that holds two bikes, a cage, water bottle and helmet. There is hardly any wear on this bike and I'm asking $500 obo for it"
