That's the bike I want. I just can't afford it. Maybe in a couple years.

    Almost Love it

Hi Everyone - Just bought a Trek Cobia 2013 and (almost) love it!

My only issue is the 'bike nuts' on rear fork part of the frame. I have had a look at many pictures on-line and at the one in the store and NONE of them have the bike nuts in this position. Unfortunatly it is scratching my legs at times when i ride.

Does anyone else have this on there frame? Can any one from Trek explain this?

    Thanks in Advance!

I've got them on an old 4 Series Trek. They're for a rear rack or whatever accessory you might want to mount. Hard to believe they scratch your legs though. All I see is potential, looks great. A good pair of shoes and pedals is all you need to unlock the potential of that beaut. Best of luck with it!

Hi Wardy - thanks for the reply. Its a bad habit i have of standing up a bit when 'rolling' (legs back and front for balance and to give a leg a break). A habit to break I guess.

I get why they are there, so yeh there is some potential to add to the the bike (I do have a 18 month yr old so it may come in handy.)

I guess my question is more as to WHY mine has it but no others (at the same shop i got it from, on-line everywhere). Just want to make sure i got the right model etc.

Never seen a Cobia with those! That's rare. You could easily put in a lower profile bolt or a flush fitting threaded cap so it wont contact you as much/often.

Krigloch-that looks like a women's saddle judging by the shape.

I believe you're right! I've had a little trouble with it, but it seems to be working great. A small adjustment should do the trick. Thanks for the advice.

Just picked up a 2012 Trek Cobia last week. So far I added Black-Ops Nylo-Pro Pedals, Serfas Saddle, and The Sensus Swayze grips. I've only taken it on one ride, but I loved it. Can't wait for more...too bad it is getting so cold up here in WI.

The bigger you are, the harder you fall.

I paid $950 for it. I bought it at Zion Cyclery in far NE Illinois.

After riding my friends Manitou fork and buying one for my fiancée I had to have one.

The offset is not G2 we know that. I was scared it would be too twitchy, maybe unstable at speed. So to counteract that, and try something new, I did a 120mm travel fork on the Mamba. With a lot of research and talking to helpful members; I decided to try it.

Install was done last night. Haven't gone to the trail yet but riding around it feels awesome. Dropped 1.1lbs. Removed 1/2" of steer tube and put a small spacer above the stem to keep the factory stem/bar height. Looking forward to tuning in this fork.

I'd like to hear how the new fork works out for you. I want to eventually swap out the fork on my Cobia and have been kicking around moving up to 120mm.

    Alberto,
Which Manitou 120mm fork did you put on there? I have a 2013 Mamba and am interested in your experience with the Cobia fork upgrade.
