    Trek 2011 ex9 Price Check

Was looking to buy an ex9, good shape. Buying online from a person and he has provided many pictures, bike looks like its in really good condition.

The question is, do you think $1500 for the bike is a good deal for me?

    Any help is appreciated.

Depending on how hard it's been ridden, this looks like a decent price.

Seems like it hasn't been ridden a lot. Just want to make sure 1500 is a decent price and that the bike is solid. If anyone has one and would like to weigh in.

That's a great bike. The wheels are very nice but the brakes aren't that good -- needs XT brakes. My brother sold one just like it about 5 months ago and got a Fuel EX9.8. His had also been upgraded to a bigger front axle.

Agreed with Sunderland; I have a 2011 Fuel EX 8 and after a lot of trouble with the stock brakes (repeated need for bleeding and caliper realignment) I switched to Shimano SLX and have been so much happier.

2012 and up the EX 8 came with SLX. The EX 9 has XTs. To the OP, 1500 is a good price. Any upgrades? What components?

It has mostly XT components, but don't think the ex 9 2011 will work out. The seller is being really sketchy.

I did have another question though, does anyone know anything about the 2012 ex9. Looks like I can get one for $2000. Does anyone know if this is a good buy or if the bike is a good bike? I have heard mixed reviews about the drcv fork...let me know please. Time is of the essence

Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The brakes on the 2012 might be a bit better but the wheels(Bontrager) will be a little bit heavier than the 2011's DT Swiss. A great bike also.

Used..I can either go for the 2012 trek ex9 for 2k (brakes have been changed to elixir 9's)

or Used 2011 ex9 for 1500 all stock, looks unused really.

Yeah, it rides like a dream. People at the bike shop said it looks like its brand new and ridden less than 5 miles. Tires even looked pristine, anyways thanks for the help. Glad to be part of the trek family now.

I'll post some nice pictures later this evening. How do you like the 29 fuel. I have heard it's pretty awesome too.

It's my first full suspension bike as I started riding this year, and I love it. I test rode a handful of different bikes and this bike just fits me and my riding style very well. I still have my Mamba and it's a hardtail, I just got sick of getting beat up going over tree roots and rocks.
