Superfly 9.7 or Superfly FS 9.8

I sold my old Gary Fisher SuperFly 100 frame and fork with the intention of going back to a hardtail but a deal on a new FS has me torn.

Original plan was a Superfly 9.7 that I would then use parts of mine (wheels tires, brakes, crank, handlebars, seat and seat post). I would then sell some of the stock parts to bring price down.

I am quoted $2750 for the 9.7 and figure after selling stock parts I would be around $2200 in it.

What muddied the water is dealer got a FS 9.8 that he got at a discounted price so he has offered it at $3900. I wouldn't need any of my leftover parts so I could sell them and get cost down to around $3200.

Not really a huge deal but I can get the FS 9.8 now and the 9.7 looks like May.

I'm I stupid if I don't take the deal on the FS 9.8? I guess is the question I am asking.

I'd say the FS is up for an update to a 435mm chainstay to compete with other bikes out there. Like the Whyte T-129S in the UK.
And if you set the 9.7 up right you won't need the rear suspension. Wide rim wheels increase the great rear compliance it already has. Plus you can get to 22 lbs.
I wouldn't trade mine for any level SF FS.
