    Superfly 100 SL stiffness comparo

I'm in the market for a 100mm travel bike - what I want is an XC style bike, but uber torsionally stiff and great at climbing very steep technical trails. I've read that the 100 SL is flexy in the rear. How does it compare to Pivot 429, Tallboy, Spearfish, Rocky Mountain 950/970, etc?

I can't speak for the other bikes but I don't think there are stiffness issues with the Superfly 100 SL. The bikeradar review that stated that was a bit of a joke. The reviewer made no direct points as to why he felt that way and Trek test these bikes with professional riders (who also race them) and have had no issues with stiffness. I would say try to ride all of them and see which one you feel most comfortable on. I ride a superfly 100 AL Pro and demo'd a superfly 100 SL elite and can say it was plenty stiff for me and FAST!

Good luck with your bike search!

Maybe there are no issues, but it it REALLY stiff? I refuse to buy into the 140mm / 30lb market to get a really stiff frame.
