    Standard HIFI

New to the site and moutain biking in general. I just purchased the HIFI, the red standard model as I am moving to colorado later this summer and will be hitting the mountains on the weekends with a few friends. I choose to get this model out of cost concerns and the fact that I am totally new to this. In my mind if I really get into it I can either upgrade the bike or the components on the bike. I was just curious if anyone else has used the bike and what their thoughts on it are....thanks and I cannot wait to acquire my first scar or two...Ben

Welcome to mountain biking and mtbr.

I have a HiFi Pro and am loving it. For me it's been a real confidence builder. Your model will handle just as well.

    Now go ride and smile!

Thanks, I just started to wonder if I should have put another 500 or so in and got the deluxe..but I will spend that extra cash on some nice shoes, helmet, camelback and what not....Glad to hear people like the bike thus far....Ben

Just starting mtbing, I think some nice accessories will do more for your overall enjoyment than another 500 on the bike.

Yes, red frame is the basic HIFI, each model based on their level is a different color...Thanks for all the input. I bought it from a shop in Colorado that my friends frequent, so I can a good relationship with them when I move out there....so the bike is in transite to New York City as we speak...I think a couple of months on our little mountains out here should give me a decent head start out West...

sometimes i wish i got the Ex9 instead of the Ex8, then i realize how lucky i am to afford a $2000 bike in the first place.
