Buying some carbon bars to replace the stock ones on my RF 2012, was looking at the Answer products AM 720 ones...anyone happy with them or have Rec on something else? I know bars a personal thing, I am looking at starting my lightening / upgrades with a bar/stem/ seatpost. Just want to know what you guys are happy / unhappy with thx!
I have the Answer AM 720 carbon bars, and I like them a lot...stiff, strong, and fairly light. However; if I was buying today, I would buy a wider set than 720mm, and I may buy a 750mm bar, because I am convinced wider is better and 720mm is on the narrower end for optimal handling on a trail bike like the Rumblefish IMO. You can always cut them...but you can't make them wider.
I had the Answer flat XC Carbon 680 on my 12 Rumblefish and they were ok, then I went with Niner's flat Carbon 720mm, 12 degree sweep bar with the +5 or -5 rise option bar. I'm using the -5 setting to keep the front end low with a 70mm stem and love the setup.
Bontrager has the Rhythm Pro Carbon bar which is their all mountain model. Based on how good there other products are I would assume this would be a good option Bontrager: Rhythm Pro Carbon (Model #09932)
Thanks for the replies guys...I picked up the Answer Prod bars. Carbon 720 AM . Thanks for the the links too... After looking at the Bontrager link it has me thinking..when I do my wheels ( another month or so) Is there a set other than the Stans you guys would rec? How are the Bontragers?
About wheels: Why not a nice set of customs? Hope Pro2 evo with clearance Stans Flow are excellent value for money!
About seatposts: Don't drop weight, drop your saddle. A dropper post is the best 300 gram investment you'll ever make
