I got the remedy 7 in 2011, increasingly I am now not liking the steep head angle (68) and the lack of any compression damping on the fork (Fox Float RL). Was going to go with the Works angleset to slacken it out by 1.5 degrees to 66.5, but that only solves one of my issues.
Lately I have been looking at putting a longer fork on it, specifically the Rockshox Pike in 650B form so that I future proof myself. The pike has an A-C of 542mm or 552mm depending on whether you go 150 or 160mm travel (I am leaning towards 160mm).
According to the online calculators, the 160mm fork will slacken the head angle to around 66.5 and raise the bottom bracket by around 10mm. I dont think this should cause any issues, but would be grateful of any riders experiences doing this upgrade. The pike is relatively new, but I'm sure people must have put Fox 36's on this bike and that would be a relatively similiar change in pure geometry terms.
Any opinion/ advice appreciated.
cheers
