Rigid fork length for Klein Attitude?

I'm thinking about putting a rigid fork on a 2001 Klein Attitude. This bike was originally spec'd with a Manitou SX 80 mm travel fork. The 2001 Klein tech manual says 432 mm fork length under Mechanics Notes (page 50) and 442 mm fork length in the geometry/sizing section page 52. I'm assuming the first number takes into account some sag in the suspension fork? I'm looking at a carbon Pace fork but unsure whether to get the 420 or 440 mm version. What has worked out well for other folks? Thanks.

For what it's worth, the 2007 Klein Attitude I comes with a 445mm rigid fork...

What Are You Looking To Get Out Of The Rigid Fork?

If you're doing it to drop some weight and improve your bike handling skills, and the bikes climbing go with the shorter (420mm) fork.

If you want a slacker and more stable ride go with the longer fork.
