Remedy 9 Stem height and handlebar width ?

I have a 2012 Remedy 9 which came with a 690mm handlebar and the bike shop set it up with one spacer above the stem. I ride a 18.5 remedy and I am 5 9 tall.

I would like to see what other remedy owners setups are for handlebar width and whether stem is dropped or not. I'm thinking of moving the stem up by one spacer and getting a wider bar but not sure on how that will affect the ride.

    Any suggestions would be welcome

    Thanks

    Mick

    I own a 2011 Remedy custom build.

    with 150mm fork...
for trail riding - 70mm stem zero rise, 685mm bar width, 20mm spacers
for AM - 55mm stem zero rise, 725mm bar, 10mm spacers

Current setup with 160mm fork - 70mm stem zero rise, 725mm bar, 2.5mm spacers

Generally, less spacers between headset and stem puts more body weight on front wheel.

Just try it and go for a ride.

remeber, if you go wider in the bars you generally should go with a shorter stem because you will be reaching farther out

i would like to see rider height and frame size mentioned as well...

i'm 5'11", large frame, XC racing background, started with a 90mm stem and 660 bars, went to 80mm for most of the season with 720bars, now experimenting with a 70mm stem.

About 15mm of spacers under the stem but running a 40mm rise bar. I have long legs (35" inseam) but short upper torso.

The 70mm might have helped me a bit at winter park.

I'm 6' 1" riding 760mm Chromag Fubars with a 70mm Chromag Ranger stem on my Remedy. Love the width of the bars but kinda wish I had a 60mm stem. Most of my riding is AM and also at Highland. 760mm might be just a tad too wide for the AM stuff. 750mm might work out a little better but I like it as is for now. I have 1 spacer above the stem and that is treating me well
