I have a question for everyone out there I have a 07 trek and my back shock is 7.5 eye to eye if I want to upgrade to I have to stick to 7.5 cause a lot of people in my area are selling shocks that ate 7.87 and I am not sure if that will fit

2015 Slash 9.8 broken. Trek warranty: Awesome. 2016 Slash 9.9 frame: delivered.

Quick note: was running 4 bottomless bands in the 2015 shock to get some extra pop in the bike, not needed on the 2016 shock. Absolutely loving the upgrade.

I was already looking in to that, also checked my frame while rebuilding.

My frame is only about 1.25 - 1.5 lbs heavier than the SF carbon one.

Frame is Alpha Gold Aluminum w/semi-integrated head tube, mechanically formed & butted tubing, race geometry, internal front derailleur routing, G2 Geometry.

My Superfly with all the parts instaled and cockpit dialed for my taste.
I went with a size 19.5 due to my kinda low 32inches inseam. 9.8 inches of seatpost exposed.

Frame was brand new Superfly 8 2014
    XT groupset
    Raceface Turbine wheels
    Reba RL 2016.

Sorry. I have purchased just the frame like one month ago. It seems that in some countries like France, Poland, Germany, TREK sells even the alu alloy frames on their own.
So the frame was brand new, some leftover from 2014. Wheels, fork, Cane Creek 40 series headset, Continental RaceKing Racesport tires and seatpost also brand new. The groupset, saddle, grips, pedals, stem and handlebar are moved from my old bike.

Paid like 340euro shipped for the frame and I`m very happy. Not many choices of modern geometry XC racers at this price point. The 2016 frames are like 700euros and they come in black/green. Not really appealing

Trek size chart states that for size 19.5" the headtube length is 10cm. For the next size up, the 21,5 they state is 12cm.
So before I have sent the parts to the LBS I was thinking, if the 19.5" frame is too small, I have to buy a 21.5. So 2cm where left to compensate for the longer headtube and 3cm for cockpit tuning..
    Now this is what happened:
-size 19.5" is fine for me
-for size 19.5" the headtube lenght is 12cm and not just 10cm
-the guys added 5.5cm of spacers instead of just 5cm. bad at math i guess!

so I have moved 2cm under the stem and moved the rest of them above. if at one point the spacers above the stem are becoming annoying, i will cut 2.5cm more from the steerer tube

I'9s laced to Light Bikes Chinese carbon...Have not weighed it but It is the same build as my Spearfish Carbon and this frame is a little lighter...So it is right around the 23# mark +or- a little...

    My custom 650b TopFuel

The frame has been modified by an artisan in order to have enough light between tire and frame.

The complete weight is 8.71kg (19.20Photos of your TREK'S-topfuel650b2.jpgPhotos of your TREK'S-topfuel650b.jpg lbs)

Thank you Craigslist! Killer deal on this ride. I need to get new tires though. Anyone know if I can get Ardent 2.4's on the front? Looks like I have enough room. Probably put Ignitor 2.1's on the rear.

Fuel EX 8, probably put 100-120 miles on it so far in little over months time. Definitely happy with the choice.

Tubeless and rf atlus riser bar only mods so far. Probably tires will be next mod. Then hopefully lighten up bike a little bit with wheelset and maybe get rid dropper post.

Curious, why do the Fox forks have different shades of Kashima coating on them? I ordered cash money riser bar (haven't installed yet) thinking it'd match the forks but I realized the fork looks like a gold champagne color.

Stock Fox fork on the Fuel Ex 8 does not have Kashima coating. Only factory series forks do.

Yeah, the kashima forks are a darker gold color, the stock forks I think are just anodized aluminum, I think, could be wrong tho

I think what he meant was that not all Kashima coatings (Fox) are the same. Some are darker than others. I have noticed this also.

The ones in the picture do not look like it. You can upgrade them to kashima, I know the 29er fork upper kashima upgrade is about$250.
