Some awesome bikes in this thread! Cant believe how many beautiful mtbs Trek has made over the years.

Thought I'd post a pic of mine as well - it's a killer '91 950. Picked it up about 3-4 weeks ago on CL for $65. It was in pretty terrible shape when i got it, but I've been working on it steadily and have it mechanically working really well.

I swapped out the totally shot pedals for some Sveltes of around the same era, and the brake levers which worked but were really awful looking. I also changed the clunky tires it came with to some really light/nice Bontrager street models.

I just love this bike, it climbs like a fighter jet, and is never tiring to ride, even when I've been out all day on it. In fact I've put several hundred miles on it within the short time I've owned it.

It's the first Trek I've ever owned and it has easily made me stop riding my other 3 mtbs.

You might need more travel in those forks. Honestly though, I love the retro stickers.

Actually, find a decent paint shop to match the paint or get the paint code from Trek, ask the shop what kind of primer to use; strip it yourself then prime it, have it painted. Decals you can prob have made cheap if you know anybody. Good luck!

White doesn't look too bad. I would change the decals up if I did anything. Wife has a SF 7 that is a similar blue but has white fork and saddle. Doesn't look too bad in person.

    2015 Marlin 5 29er w/ Fox Fork upgrade

Just got into mountain biking so I bought a low-end model. Couldn't handle the Suntour M3030 pogo stick so I upgraded to a 120mm Fox Float 32 w/ G2 Geometry.

Went from 75mm to 120mm...huge difference.

Air is much better than coil.

Got it at my local bike shop.It was used, got it off another Trek bike...not sure where they got it. I think I'll switch out the decals for the retro orange color to match the bike.

Yeah, Black and Red is pretty guyish but I can honestly say I'never once payed attention to the color, make or model of someones bike. I do take notice of how they ride though.

Just getting back into mountain biking. Picked up this Trek Liquid 20 on Craigslist for $300.

I believe it's a 2003 or 2004 model. It came with Shimano XT front and rear shifters with XT rear derailleur and LX front. Mavic Crossmax wheels and 160mm Shimano SLX hydraulic disc brakes front and rear. Fork is a Rock Shox Psylo 120mm and rear is a Fox Talas.

Think I did pretty good on scoring this even though it's older.

Trek 6000 2009. I think my abilities have finally pushed beyond what she can handle. I think her new role will become commuter/ loaner bike for friends. But many a good memories and scars were had on this noble steed. Heres a shot I took while I was back home riding on the trails where I first started.

I've upgraded/changed quite a few things. Only remain stock parts are the cranks, rear derailer, brakes and wheels.

    Added;
    KS Eten dropper
    Brooks B17
    Raceface atlas handlebars
    Raceface 60mm Race stem
    Raceface 1x NW chainring 34t
    Shimano Cassette 11-36t
    Odi vans grips
    Fyxation mesa mp pedals
    Maxxis Ardent tyres
    Rockshock XC 30 Gold airfork

The 2016 Fuel EX9 looks really cool. But be sure to demo them on the trails you ride most of the time. One may be a little more suited to them than the other.
The Remedy is more of an Enduro, big hit bike and the Fuel is more of a XC bike. Or at least, that's the 2015 model.

    2014 Superfly FS

My fairly new Superfly FS. Converted to 1x10 with One-up 42 tooth, RADr cage and Raceface 32 tooth NW. Carbon fiber bars, ESI chunky grips for cockpit upgrades. Building up some 38mm wide asymetric carbon hoops and adding a KS LEV integra this week. Plan to run IKON 2.35 tires front and back. Also upgraded the fork from the crap 2014 Evolution damper to the FiT Performance line damper (no trail adjust). Photos of your TREK'S-img_0236_50%25.jpg

Are you able to notice a substantial difference with the new damper?

Absolutely. The old damper if set at 20% sag felt like it was rigid until a large square edge hit. If I ran it around 30% sag it felt better but blew through the travel easily. The new damper is the best ~$150 I've spent on the bike. Great small bump compliance with good mid-travel support. It feels like it just works now. I also put 3 float fluid blister packs in it instead of one, changed to the heavier gold oil in the lowers and swapped to low friction seals. Unless there is a difference in the negative air spring design, this fork is the same as a Performance line.
