Picked up my first mtb yesterday. Was able to hit up the local trail this morning and give the bike a try and love it.

Just bought her off Craigslist! Remedy 9.8 Previous owner never rode it on the dirt. Paid a little over half of what it would've cost brand new.

Thanks! Taking her out for the first ride tomorrow. I'm coming off a 2014 X-Caliber 9. Can't wait to see how the Rock Shox Pike fork and Fox Reaktiv shock feel; hope she handles like a dream...

I actually love this color scheme! I was planning on buying the Remedy in the same colors but a "too good of a deal" fell right in my lap!

Here's my weekday exercise buddy: Trek Marlin 2013 29er (went thru different upgrades already)

and occasional weekend race buddy too.

Ride buddys are telling me that my tires are too heavy for xc racing (fireeye 28mm AM rims and ardent 2.25 front and back)...i'm keeping it that way since this is my back up bike when doing trail explorations on wekeends. (in case my FS 650b is sick)

I nearly 30 years of riding this is surprisingly my first Trek

Remedy 8 29'er. I will post a full pic when I don't have my cluttered basement as a backdrop. Sadly, it's been raining since I picked it up...

This needs it's own thread with additional images including seat stay / chain stay clearance and tales of how it rides. Please.

Went full motard with the spare wheelset on my Fuel.

Took a few rides to get the sealant spread around before they reliably held pressure tubeless. Roll like a roadbike tire with the cushion of a MTB tire and grip that is full moto. I had been using 700c tires on the spare wheels, but the smaller diameter left me spinning out constantly with the stock gearing.

I started commuting on the stock tires to get my money's worth out of them. After a half dozen 60+mi commutes on top of the 300 or so miles they already had they were well smoked.

    More 69er

    Changed some things on it.

-Bontreger race saddle got swapped for a WTB speed comp. The Bonty race is a couple of grams lighter but not as comfortable as the WTB.

-Changed the handle bar and stem from a 620mm bars and 100mm stem to 680mm bars and 80mm stem and installed Northshore grips. So far so good I have a 60mm stem on stand by. Don't think I i will need it. Liking it so far.

    More pics.

I guess this is a decent place to put my first post since I just climbed back into the biking scene a couple years ago after a pretty hefty hiatus. My two sons (10,12) are getting into riding as is my wife. We quickly became a little trek family and it's good to be back on the trails. Great site here guys and gals and thanks for all the great information.

Here's a crappy pic of my Superfly AL elite. My 12yr old rides a Marlin, 10yr old rides a 3500 disc, and the wife rides a Navigator. I'll take a family photo tomorrow after we ride

    Building her this weekend

2014 Trek Factory Racing Elite SL team issue...

I know it is a womans' paint scheme and i am not even close to being a woman. other riders might laugh at me but that is okay.

    Components:
2015 fox 29 remote CTD 100mm with kashima
2015 bonty RXL 29 TLR CL wheelset
2.1 bonty 29-0 team issue tires
    bonty xxx 400mm seatpost
    bonty xxx 90mm blendr stem
    bonty xxx 580mm flat bars
    bonty xxx foam grips
    bonty xxx bottle cage
shimano xt brakes and drivetrain (hoping to upgrade to xtr9000 very soon)

thinking of having it repainted. any suggestions?
