Here's my Slash 7. I love it. Have since put on a one up 40t sprocket and it's also going to get the RAD cage. Also sporting some 650 G5s for bike park season.

    1991 Trek Aluminum 6000

Picked this up at the 2014 Portland, Maine Bike Swap for just $50! Its a 15" frame and smallish for me, but one day with a new stem and a longer seatpost, it'll be perfect. It came with the Onza bar ends and was pretty stock overall. I added the Ritchey TGV grips that I love. I think that the smaller frame makes it the lightest bike that I've ever owned!

That is a good price for a bike in that condition. However, it is very outdated, and I wouldn't recommend pouring money into upgrades for it. Ride it as is until you can afford a new bike that fits you.

Thanks, good advice. Yeah, no, not going to put too much $ into it. The grips were needed to replace the old dry rotted, flaking stockers and I love the Ritcheys. I'm mainly concerned about the seat post as the stem is good now, though it looks like its extends out of the head tube too much, but I haven't gotten past the minimum mark. I'm just looking to get a computer and some new tires after awhile, nothing too pricy. I also replaced the really old toe clips and a pair of clipless may be in the works one day.
And frankly I'm sorta stoked about putting on a a drop bar one day in the future, but I'm happy about it and its gotten me riding again after 20 years or so.

Only on the 29 versions...650 are spec'd with Fox 34. No idea why Trek did that, but I will say this fork is buttery smooth compared to the 32 on my Fuel, even after I had the damper upgraded at Fox. I was contemplating swapping for a pike but am surprisingly pleased.

2014 Trek Farley, XTR drivetrain, Bluto 100mm, Thompson Dropper post, Thompson carbon bar, RF crank, RF N/W 32 chainring. Complete trail dominating machine. This picture was at Winter Park CO on a recent trip. She bombed most trails out there.

How do the new Slash climb? I know this version doesn't come with the travel adj pike, is it needed?

not at all. i've done plenty of climbs, from techy to fire roads, the pike is a pretty stiff fork at factory recommended setting. and i have it running even less pressure than that and it still doesn't bob or wander or weave. and my other bike has a fox CTD and this probably wanders less.

i've never really been siked about any trek bikes except the Slash and Session... but i guess i'm more of a gravity guy. but it does have excellent components and awesome paint job. Trek paint jobs are incredible this year

    Photos of your TREK'S

After a 2 month hiatus due to a broken frame, warranty hassles and a long vacation, I got out of the city for a ride.

    Photos of your TREK'S-imageuploadedbytapatalk1413131534.946249.jpg

Nice day to sneak out for a quick afternoon loop. Trails were damp and slippery here in western Washington, no surprise, but the sun was shining (until it started raining again).

Yes a rear derailleur (wish a smaller cage) and the cranks will be swapped.
Actually deore brakes does a very good job, i don't need more for now.

The shock is also pissing me off, already been serviced by fox due to a loss of pressure, and now it starts squealing again.
If that continues a monarch will take his place.

yeah, i have a monarch on my Slash, and i think i want a shorter cage on mine, i have an X9 RD and i want a XO1 RD with maybe better trigger shifters. i might upgrade next summer to XO1 2X10 set up... idk, i might opt out to get a 1X11 it matters how i feel, i'll try out some 1X11 bikes before i start buying parts.

I noticed that the Deore brakes are good but mine bend after every 2 rides. so i have to bend them back.

I love my Remedy! It does everything I want it to, but still has a bit more for when I really need it. Moved from a 2013 Rumblefish Elite, & it has brought a lot of fun back into my riding.

Picked up a 2014 Stache 8 today. It was a factory demo bike, so its pretty much used, but with LBS support. It was $1460 before taxes, so I consider it a no-brainer at that price point.

I was looking for new wheelset and 15mm fork upgrade for my X-cal 9, but Its a hell of a lot better deal to get this Stache.

As a demo bike, its not entirely stock, but as far as I can tell, all of the changes are upgrades.
    - Instead of the XR-3 Expert tires, it has 29-3 Team issue and 29-4 Team issue tires.
    - Instead of the Duster wheel set, it has Rythmn elite wheels and hubs.
    - The Cassette is now a M771 XT instead of the stock HG-62.
    - The rotors are RT86 Ice Tech, and I don't believe that is stock equipment

If I can get $700-800 for my X-Caliber, then I only end up paying $700-800 for the upgrade, which is a killer deal.

jesus, how long is your seat post!!! i think you may need a bigger bike buddy haha. also your bike is the polar opposite of mine ahaha, everything looks so small and light haha. but thats a good XC bike.

Seatpost is 400mm long, however, there is about 6" of post inside the frame.
I am 5'11" and wouldn't want a bigger bike. Mine is a medium and it fits me fine.
It's relatively light, and yes I race XC, so for my uses its perfect. I wouldn't mind a Remedy 27.5 as a fun bike though...

    New Fuel EX

New Fuel, also posted in that thread. Luckily weather has held out and got some rides in. Wide rims are a lot of fun, look like fat tires really. Upgrade to full suspension from my prior SF 9.8 has been great. Reactiv is awesome and this thing just climbs great, minimal bob.Photos of your TREK'S-img_0009.jpgPhotos of your TREK'S-img_0007.jpg
