Newbie here and need some help

I was wondering if this lookoed like a good buy. The seller did a second chance so in total with shipping the bike would be $300.01. I was wondering what your thoughts were. I am concerned about the year(being so old) and the fork(needing new cartridges). If you can give me any advise I would greatly appreciate it.

$300 will get you a new very low end bike with Acera level and likely a RST fork. So in this respect, I think that this bike is a better buy than that despite it's age--but it largely depends on the condition of the components. If they are barely used, I'd say it's an okay deal, but if they are shot and need replacing soon, obviously that will only add to your total cost. Can you get detailed pictures of the bike's condition?

But again, I would think, at minimum you would need another fork, which is going to cost you $100? on ebay for i dunno, a Manitou Mars/Axel or RS Duke/Pilot or something...

Ibex is generally considered the cheapest decent manufacturer now a days so it serves as a good benchmark for what you can buy new. For $400 you could get: But when you tack on shipping it's $435. I like that Pulse frame, it's very nice, but I think the rest is a bit of a toss up. Frankly, the new lower end components are probably going to work better than the worn ones on the Klein.
