There are Mantras with Aluminum main boom and those with Carbon main boom.

The Carbon Mantras are the Race and the Pro. Frames are identic, only the parts are different. The Pro should have the better components unless the Race was upgraded.

The Aluminum Mantras with standard 1 1/8" head tubes are the Comp, Race and Pro. Again, same frames but different parts. Pro better than Race, Race better than Comp.

And then there is the Aluminum Mantra Pro with the Klein specific Airheadset. This is a very different beast. The tubes are of the "Gradient" type (butted, thinner walls and much lighter) and it has the fat Airhead head tube and needs specific fork steerers, bearings and stems (stock was the MC2 bar/stem combo). These frames were build in 1996 and 1997 in limited quantities (some say 250 only but thats not proven). Most were painted Race Red with very few exceptions.

    Hope that helps, Carsten
