Help identifying trek fuel ex

I bought this off a friend this morning super cheap and I'm trying to figure out what year and model it is.
It's all Deore Lx and xtr components. The xtr brake levers are also the shifters!
Monarch rear shock and a dual air Rockshox that's missing the decals.
My current best guess is 2005-6 Fuel ex 8-9

Any thoughts?

That was my first guess but almost zero components match up except the rear shock.

Also the fork has zero markings but I can tell its a rockshox of some sort.

The fork is definitely Rockshox, it has the motion control damper with the turnkey. I'm betting it's the stock Reba. Air ports on both top and bottom?

The 07 8/9 came with Fox stuff. My 07 EX7 came with Fox/Recon combo.

I agree looks like an 06 model with a rock shox reba
