G2 or No G2 - that is the question

So I'm sure this has been covered... But I'm look for feedback specific to the negative effects (if any) are associated with running a Non G2 Fork on a Superfly (G2 Specific Frame) Hardtail.

It's been reported the Trek / Subaru Team doesn't use G2 forks, instead, standard Rockshox Sids.

This is exactly what I'd like to do with my Superfly SS for 2013

On paper it shows that a Non G2 fork would = slower handling. Paper doesn't always ring true though...

    Thoughts? Real Life Experence?

I have a 2010 superfly hardtail and had to send my fork in last year for repair. I used the Rochshox Reba (non G2) off of my old Rig with no problems. In fact I really could not tell any difference.
