Fuel EX 8 Increasing Suspension Travel?

I have a 2005 Fuel EX8 which I totally love. But, I've just noticed that the 2007 version has 130mm (5in) travel front and back as opposed to the 100mm (4in) that I have on my bike. I was trying to figure out if Trek changed the geometry to compensate for this, basically I have been thinking about trying to put a 2007 rocker arm on my bike, and get a new set of forks with 130mm of travel (that I can drop to 100mm for climbing). This should give me a touch more travel front and back. Will this totally screw up the geometry of my bike, is it possible at all? Any advice would be much appreciated.
