I have a 2003 Trek Liquid. I replaced the original Manitou Black fork with a Zoke Bomber Free Ride. It is longer and burlier. I noticed play between the handlebars and headtube yesterday. My friend was worried that I might have ovalized the headtube with the longer fork. That would surprise me as I don't do much more than 2-3' drops. Anyway, turns out when I tightened the topbolt (star nut) it took the play out. I'm still going to replace the headset with a Chris King. My friend still thinks I should go with the deep cup Chris King SteelSet or something like it.
Question: has anybody installed a deep cup headset on a Trek Liquid? Just wondering if there is enough clearance in there. thanks
