    Buying an EX7

Hey guys. I am buying a new bike and I've decided to upgrade from my hardtail to a Fuel EX 6/7/8...With that, I am 6'3. I called a local bike shop to check if they have any model in that are 21.5 instock so I can test them out. Long story short, they have a 2013 EX7 on consignment. Has maybe a couple miles on it (all paperwork from the purchase from that store a couple months ago). The bike looks brand spanking new...The owner wants $1500 for it. Apparently he bought it and got shipped overseas in the military. I feel like it's too good of a deal to pass up (assuming it fits me - 21.5) Thoughts??

That sounds like a great deal. My brother has a 2012 Fuel EX 9 that is very nice (27 lbs stock). I'd have a bit of trouble if I were you not being tempted by next year's 29er version of the Fuel EX, but I'm 6'4" and prefer those 29 inch wheels. Probably can't go wrong at that price.

I know I sound horrible saying this - but I've personally never ridden a 29er. I feel as if it's a little bit of a "fad". Everyone's doing it now. I have a tight budget, so I feel like getting the "old style" might be a great factor for me - plus I've enjoyed running my current 26inch hard tail.

But again, since I've never ridden a 29er, I'm ignorant. Ignorance is bliss :-/

The 26" wheels will climb great and are more "flickable." Sounds like the bike would fit you well. If you buy it, let us know how you like it.

I couldn't pass on the pearl white of the Ex7 last year even though I wanted an ex8, and I've been happy ever since!
