Brand new 2011 Trek Fuel EX5 for 1000$ = Yes or No?
I could get a brand new 2011 Trek Fuel EX5 for 1000$ (around 1150$ with taxes) at my LBS.
I tried mountain bike on trails for the first time this fall with my old 2003 Gary Fisher Tarpon and I really loved it. So I'm a newbie and I want to buy something better but not too expensive. With the kids, I cannot invest more than 1200$ and anyway I don't think I will do more than 10-20 real rides from april to november.
I think that's a really good deal and I should jump on that but the only things that's make me hesitate is the bike size. That's a 18.5" and I'm 6' with 35" inseam. I didn't ride it because it's winter here (50cm snowstown yesterday) but the feeling was okay on it. My acuel bike is 19.5" but I think I cannot compare because this is completely 2 different bikes.
What do you think? Thanks a lot
EDIT : Here are the specs : trekbikes.com/ca/fr/bikes/2011/archive/fuelex5

I think that's a pretty good bike for $1000. Definitely room for upgrades if you ever decide to.
However, I would make sure you ride the bike around. It may be a little small for you.
