    27.5/650b Remedy and Slash?

    Check out this tweet. https://twitter.com/ilikesushi/statu...45735874543616

    Credible? dunno.

Reinvent Top Fuel with 650b? Curious.

These new bikes look amazing and if I didn't already have a new 2013 Banshee Spitfire V2 I would probably be all over one of them.

Another great thing...more good tire and rim choices for the 650b crowd. Love that Bonty TLR rim system.

As a recent 650b owner, I couldn't agree more! But I was hoping Trek would announce these back when they did the Remedy 29er, as I was in the market for a bike asap (my 2010 Remedy was stolen). I'd always been a fan of the Remedy and wanted to replace it with a new one. The reviews on the 29er were great but after a test ride it just didn't feel "right" to me. I ended up with a SC Bronson and love it. I wonder if Specialized will be forced to offer up some 650b bikes now that the other big name has.

Slash seat tube goes from 74 or whatever to 67 degrees? im sure its only actual and not effective but their current website doesn't show effective SA Trek Goes 650B in 2014 - NSMB.com Mountain Bike Reviews, News, Photo and Video

The Slash seat tube angle is a typo as some have mentioned in Pinkbike.

I'm sticking to my 2013 Remedy 7 26er until it breaks apart. Hopefully by then, I'd have money for that futuristic Slash with whatever-standard wheels it has. hehehehe

What's wrong with that? Pretty much every Enduro bike specced with Fox Forks are running 34's these days.

    K

Yes I agree. Not sure if 65 degree HA is a typo - seems like every company has typos on their website, but a 34 instead of 36 on a bike with 65 ha seems stupid.

What's "EP'ing"? I have a Slash 8 on order and I want to join in on the EP'ing fun, whatever that is.

    EP = Employee Purchase

Test rode both the 2014 Slash 9 and Remedy 9.8 yesterday at a Trek demo. The Slash was pretty sweet, the Remedy was not my cup of tea, but it boiled down to component choice. Was nice to compare them side by side to my 2013 Slash 9. Quite a few people at the demo were surprised by the agility of the Slash and how comfortable it was as a "trail bike" as well as a jumpy droppy bike.

Going to start another thread to share my thoughts on the side by side between the two Slashes.

So I guess I won't be joining in on the EP'ing fun then haha. I think I still got a pretty good deal from my LBS anyways--$600 less than the MSRP for the 2013 model. Looking forward to reading the side by side of the Slashes and might have a few questions depending on what you address.

I rode the Remedy 9.8 yesterday and was very impressed. Fast and fun. Got to ride the RM Instinct and Altitude, SC Solo, Pivot Mach 6 and 429 as well, and I'd say the Trek was up there with the best of them. Very impressed with the RM's as well.

Anyone seen the geometry specs, weights or pricing on these? Couldn't find anything on the Trek site.

Trek felt snappier and just more fun, Solo felt a little dead, unresponsive. Another friend had the same feeling about the Solo, although my wife really liked it.

Sorry that's probably not a very technical answer, but it's all I got.

what are thoughts on the $5000 aluminum Remedy 9 vs $4500 carbon Remedy 9.7?

Remedy 9 - (aluminum frame, Fox 34, full XT, Rhythm Comp wheelset, Reverb dropper)
Remedy 9.7 - (carbon frame, RoxShox 32, XT/SLX, Duster wheelset, no dropper)

Would a 2010 Remedy 9.9 carbon fit 650b wheels as well?
