I have demoed the Superfly 9.8 at a Trek Factory demo.
The damping, trail feel and handling are exceptional. I like the potential for this as a carbon 29 hard tail trail bike. A game changing bike with 10mm shorter chain stays than last years SL. And the price range is accessible.
But here in the US our choices are two less than in other markets like the UK and EU. Why?
We aren't yet offered the 9.8 frameset.
Superfly 9.8 Frame
Superfly delivers the pinnacle of cross country speed and efficiency. If going fast is everything you're looking for, Superfly is your ride.
Colours Onyx Carbon/Lime Green
Frame OCLV Mountain Carbon, Carbon Armor, E2 tapered head tube, BB95, balanced post mount, Closed Convert dropouts, G2 Geometry
Sizes 15.5, 17.5, 18.5, 19.5, 21.5, 23"
We also are not offered the 9.8SL Project One choice with the 9.8 frame not the 9.9SL. The build option is new and the site is not yet working for a 9.8.
I would go for the frameset immediately and/or would consider a Project One build.
Trek, please give your home market these options.
