Bonking ... not feelin' well 2014 Bontrager Rhythm rapid drive hub Corrosion

Hello Guys, I bought a new 2014 Bontrager Rhythm elite wheelset from my lbs two month ago. It has been a nice wheelset. Last week, I wanted to upgrade the old cassette came with my superfly Al (Shimano HG62) to the XT version. It was not easy to take that cassette off. After the old one was removed, I found the free hub body was corroded. Pictures are attached.

I think if I kept on riding my bike without noticing this, the free hub would totally fail in a couple of month more. My lbs is kindly helping me send a warranty claim to Trek. I hope everything will be going on well.

Wow that doesn't look good. Make sure you put a thin layer of grease on the new one. I have the same wheels but live in Cali. so I don't ride in the wet cuz its never wet here.
